ProductTank goes North! We're delighted to announce our first event outside of London will be in Manchester, together with the BBC in their new offices at MediaCity at Salford Quays.
The themes are very open for this first event but we'll be looking at how larger organisations approach product management (and some of the projects/products that have emerged from this approach) through to managing products in a smaller, start-up type environment and looking at how to retain "the vision" and not just focus on the immediate quick wins. Taking to the floor will be;
James Thornett Product Manager in BBC Future Media. James was managed the recent update to the BBC homepage and will be talking about the relaunch itself, how changes to such a prominent site were communicated and a look at the reaction to the new design.
John Barratt Product Manager, 2ergo. Manchester-based 2ergo provides mobile advertising and marketing solutions including interactive messaging, campaign management and mobile web design powered by their own, award-winning, technologies.
Rob Severs Product Manager, TraderMedia Group. More widely known as their flagship AutoTrader brand they are the UK's largest publisher of automative classifieds including AutoTrader, BikeTrader and a raft of other publications.
We'll have the usual presentations by our speakers, followed by beers in the bar in Quay House - courtesy of the BBC Academy. The event is a great opportunity for established Product Managers in the north-west to meet your counterparts & new contacts, but also for anyone who is intrigued about what product management is and wants to fnd out more about putting together world-class digital products.
Getting to MediaCity is easy by car, bus or tram. From central Manchester take an Eccles (get off at Harbour City) or MediaCityUK tram service. Buses stop outside the office or there is ample parking at Harbour City, MediaCity (The Garage) or the Lowry.
Look forward to seeing you all there, and please do spread the word!
